Join us for the vibrant carnival procession as it winds through a fixed route through the village, showcasing the spirit of our community!
We invite local businesses, community groups, charities, everyone else to participate and share in the celebration.

THE PROCESSION WILL START AT 12.00 MIDDAY!
PROCESSION ROUTE
The Brockival Procession will begin at midday from Brockenhurst Primary School before making its way along Sway Road to the junction with Brookley Road. From there, the procession will turn left and continue through the heart of the village, passing through the centre of Brockenhurst and heading towards the Watersplash. The route will then turn left once more, finishing at St Saviour's Church, where participants and spectators can enjoy the Gala in the Garden, featuring community stalls, food and drink, live entertainment and family activities.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to line the route and help give Brockival a warm welcome as this much-loved village tradition returns.

THE PROCESSION
One of the highlights of Brockival will be our colourful Carnival Procession, making its way through the heart of Brockenhurst before arriving at Gala in the Garden at St Saviour's Church.
We are delighted to welcome the Ringwood Pipe Band, who will proudly lead the procession, followed by our Brockival Bearers. Together, they will set the tone for a celebration of community spirit, local pride and everything that makes Brockenhurst such a wonderful place to live, work and visit.

Procession Participant Rules & Guidance
Please read carefully before taking part in the Brockival Procession.
Thank you for helping bring Brockival to life. To ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone, all participants are asked to follow the guidance below.
1. General Conduct

Participants must follow the instructions of event organisers and marshals at all times.

Please act responsibly and respectfully towards fellow participants, volunteers, residents, and spectators.

Any behaviour deemed unsafe may result in removal from the procession.
2. Arrival and Registration

All participants must arrive at the designated assembly area by the time advised by organisers.

Please register with the Procession Coordinator upon arrival.

Late arrivals may not be able to join the procession once it has started.
3. Procession Route

Participants must remain on the designated procession route.

The procession should move at a steady walking pace unless otherwise instructed.

Please maintain a safe distance from the group or vehicle in front.
4. Vehicles and Floats

All vehicles must be roadworthy, insured, and driven by a licensed driver.

Vehicles must travel at walking pace throughout the procession.

Drivers must follow instructions from marshals at all times.
-
Passengers must remain safely positioned on vehicles or floats.

No one may board or disembark from a moving vehicle.
5. Children and Young People

Children must remain under the supervision of a responsible adult or group leader at all times.

Schools, youth groups, and organisations should ensure appropriate adult supervision ratios are maintained.
6. Costumes and Decorations

Costumes, props, and decorations should be suitable for a family-friendly community event.

Decorations must be securely attached and should not present a hazard to participants or spectators.

Please avoid anything likely to obstruct visibility or movement.
7. Throwing Items

Participants must not throw sweets, gifts, promotional items, or any other objects into the crowd.

Items may only be distributed safely where approved by organisers.
8. Animals
-
Animals are welcome only with prior approval from the organising committee.

Owners and handlers remain responsible for the welfare and control of their animals at all times.
9. Health and Safety

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for the weather conditions.

Bring water and any personal medication you may require.

Report any accidents, hazards, or concerns immediately to a marshal or event organiser.
10. Photography and Media

Photographs and video footage may be taken during the event for promotional and community purposes.
11. Weather

Organisers reserve the right to alter, delay, or cancel the procession in severe weather or unsafe conditions.
